Avatar Pets

Microsoft recently announced a new addition to the Avatar Marketplace that is set to go live tomorrow, Avatar Pets. The first wave of pets will include a “Large Dog, Pug Dog, Dog in Bag, Cat, Siamese Cat, Long Haired Cat, Goldfish, Guinea Pig, Monkey, Bird, Snake and [...] a Pony.”

Pets are expected to cost 240 MS points each.

Don’t have any MS points? Remeber the Final Fantasy XII twitter competion? If you’ve taken part, you’ll be able to claim your FREE Chocobo Avatar Pet soon. Don’t worry, you can still register to claim your free Chocobo Avatar Pet.

Deal of the Week

Forza 3 – DLC

Two new DLC packs have been announced for Forza Motorsport 3. The first, available now, is the Hyundai Genesis Coupe Car Pack. The second pack, the Hot Holidays Car Pack, will land on the XBL Marketplace on 8th December.

The “Hyundai Genesis Coupe Car Pack,” now available for free on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, includes the Rhys Millen Racing Red Bull Hyundai Genesis Coupe, the HKS Genesis Coupe, and a one-of-a-kind “Forza Motorsport 3″ Genesis Coupe. Now fans have the opportunity to expand their already-epic “Forza Motorsport 3” car rosters and experience for themselves several iconic variations of the 300-horsepower Genesis Coupe.

The “Hot Holidays Car Pack,” releasing Dec. 8 for 400 Microsoft points, will feature some of the world’s most anticipated super cars and purpose-built race cars of 2010, including the recently unveiled Ferrari 458 Italia. To give players a taste of the “Hot Holidays Car Pack,” the brand new 2010 Audi S4 will be available as a free download.

Download the Hyundai Genesis Coupe Car Pack now.

Further details on the Hot Holidays Car Pack will be released via the official Forza site over the next two weeks, with in depth profiles of each vehicle included in the pack.

Assassin’s Creed: Lineage

Ubisoft recently released Assassin’s Creed: Lineage, a series of short videos that provide backstory and insight into the upcoming Assassin’s Creed 2. While Part 1 is available via the XBL Marketplace (here), the only way to see the remaining parts (currently) is via YouTube. Don’t worry, I’ll save you the hassle of trawling through YouTube to find all 4 parts, and just include them in this post.

Having been lost for the past few days in a haze of Modern Warfare 2, I’ve finally emerged to bring you some of the best news stories from the past few days.

Final Fantasy XIII has finally been given a launch date, 9th March 2010. You can help unlock an exclusive XBL FFXIII item using Twitter, here.
The much anticipated NXE update will go live on 17th November, you can read my first impressions here.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 sold an amazing 1.2 million copies in the UK on day of release, congratulations to Infinity Ward.
According to Console Monster, The Bible is set to hit your Xbox 360 soon. It’s expected to retail for 400 MS points.
Project Natal has been named as one of TIME Magazine’s Inventions of the Year. This marks the third major honour that Project Natal has received in the past month, not bad for something that isn’t even on shelves yet.
A new version of the Xbox 360 wireless adaptor has been announced. It supports the N protocol (as well as a, b, and g), sports dual antennas, and promises a greater wireless range. It will be available this Christmas.
