One of my many responsibilities over at Planet C&C is taking care of their weekly mailbag feature. Each week I set a new topic, post the best responses, and add my own 2 cents at the end.
Recently the topic I handed out was: -
EA seem intent on pushing the C&C series out on to as many different platforms as possible.
Do you think that the console versions are as accessible as their PC counterparts?
If you could improve the console ports, what would you do, and why?
Also, do you think a console RTS will ever be as successful as those on PCs?
With the release of Halo Wars just around the corner (27th February for Europe), I thought I’d once again visit this topic for Old School Gamer.
Over at Planet C&C, I recently asked people their views on the DRM that would be shipped and included with the upcoming release of Red Alert 3 for the PC, and if it had affected their decision to buy the product. That edition of the Mailbag is up and can be viewed here.
At the end of that particular Mailbag, I gave my 2 cents on Red Alert 3′s DRM (and DRM in general): -
Pretty much every major games news site, has some sort of audio podcast available for download. But what happens when you want to see what they’re describing in action?
Very few games sites have video podcasts available for download, let alone good ones. Below are my recommendations: -
Games have come a long way in the 20 years that I’ve been playing them, and with their ever increasing popularity and fame, they’re also drawing negative attention.
Latest on the hit list, is Mass Effect. A complete shock, when there are games out there that are much more violent and graphic. However, the violence here is not the issue. Instead, it’s the sex scene.
